Counseling/Behavioral Health
This programs offers comprehensive support and counseling services to adult medical patients and family members dealing with the emotional challenges that may accompany a cancer diagnosis.
Behavioral Health team members teach coping skills and strategies to help patients gain the highest quality of life possible, whatever their prognosis. In addition, the Cancer Center's Behavioral Health program assists patients as they deal with healthy lifestyle changes, including weight loss, smoking cessation and stress management.
The experienced, highly qualified Behavioral Health team at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center includes a psycho-oncologist (a psychiatrist focusing on the oncology patient), psychologist, psychotherapists and counselors.
