Focus On Nutrition
A cancer journey begins with diagnosis and treatment, but the journey back to health and vitality continues on after treatment ends. Focus on Nutrition is a six-week program designed to help cancer survivors return to a healthy weight and lifestyle.
Led by clinical dietitian, Chandy Lockman Hoke, MS, RD, LMNT, Focus on Nutrition offers customized guidance on nutrition and wellness for cancer survivors in a choice of group sessions or individual meetings.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify healthy portion sizes.
- Understand food labels and recipe ingredient lists.
- Use a weekly food/activity journal to improve weight and wellness.
- Succeed with lifestyle changes.
Cancer survivors are welcome to bring their caregivers to the sessions, which are held at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. At the conclusion of the six-week session, participants will have the option to continue in the program or rejoin a future session if they like.
Focus on Nutrition is open to all cancer survivors in the Omaha area by a provider referral. Ask your care provider whether you might benefit from this program.
