Focus on Nutrition for Cancer Survivors
It is very important to maintain proper nutrition before, during and after cancer treatment. Harper's Hope offers free nutritional consultation with a certified clinical oncology dietitian who provides eating tips, recipes and help with supplements.
Our team provides important information on diet and nutrition as part of your cancer treatment. We can help you with nourishment to fuel your recovery.

Focus on Nutrition Program
Focus on Nutrition is a six-week program designed to help cancer survivors return to a healthy weight and lifestyle.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify healthy portion sizes
- Understand food labels and recipe ingredient lists
- Use a weekly food/activity journal to improve weight and wellness
- Succeed with lifestyle changes
Cancer survivors are welcome to bring their caregivers to the sessions, which are held at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. Focus on Nutrition is open to all cancer survivors by provider referral. Ask your provider whether you might benefit from this program.
Chandy Lockman Hoke, MS, RD, CSO, LMNT
Chandy is a registered dietitian and licensed medical nutrition therapist who created the Oncology Nutrition Program at Methodist in 2006. Chandy is one of only three registered dietitians working in Nebraska who is board certified as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, and has been working with oncology patients since 2001. Chandy believes nutrition is a powerful supportive therapy that can help patients get through cancer therapy and thrive in survivorship.
Jami Tran-Balk, RD, CSO, LMNT
Jami has more than 16 years of experience as a registered dietitian one of only three registered dietitians working in Nebraska who is board certified as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. At Methodist, Jami works with patients to develop a plan for good nutrition, which can help reduce the risk of cancer, keep patients healthier during treatment and combat side effects and illness. She loves her job and the opportunity to make an impact in patients’ daily lives.
Gina Woodruff, RD, LMNT
Gina is a registered dietitian and licensed medical nutrition therapist who specializes in oncology nutrition. Whether working with patients before, during or after their cancer treatments, Gina strives to go above and beyond for them and their families. She believes it’s especially important that they feel acknowledged and remembered throughout their care at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.
